Flat Reed

Flat reed is made from peeled inner rattan core and is commonly used for wicker furniture repair, basket weaving, wrapping, edging, and other woven applications. Its flat profile makes it easier to lay the reed evenly across woven surfaces and follow the shape of the project.

The material should be soaked in warm water before weaving to improve flexibility and make bending easier during use. Flat reed is available in different widths and thicknesses to help match various weaving styles and project requirements.

Flat reed is often selected together with round reed and flat-oval reed when completing weaving projects.
