      Round reed is made from peeled inner rattan core, a natural material commonly used for basket weaving, chair caning, wicker furniture repair, and other woven projects. Its round profile makes it suitable for weaving, shaping, and creating traditional wicker patterns, while the natural material can be easily stained or painted to better match the project.

      To improve flexibility and make the material easier to bend and shape, the reed should be soaked in warm water before weaving. Different reed sizes make it easier to match various weaving styles and project requirements.

      Round reed is often selected together with flat reed and flat-oval reed when completing weaving projects.
